Arthur Stone

Arthur is also one of the founding members of the guild.  He has won the WOTY award four times and has a reputation for making excellent sparkling wines.  Arthur acted as guild 'Public Relations Officer' for 30 plus years.

 

 

Chris Myers

Chris has been a member of the guild since 1980 and has won the WOTY 12 times.  He has also won numerous awards at various wineshows around Australia.  In addition he is a highly respected chief wine judge.  Chris acted as guild treasurer for 9 years and ran our  winemaking classes for many years.

Sheila Lee

Sheila is a long serving member of the guild and has a reputation for outstanding liqueurs 

 

 

 

Elaine Hall

Elaine is a long term member of the guild and has held committee positions of treasurer and newsletter editor.  Over a period of time Elaine graduated from 'associate' to well regarded wine judge.

 

 

David Hart

David Hart (D2) joined the guild in 2005.  He is a multiple WOTY award winner at both FAWG and Eltham.  Since he joined the guild he has acted as mentor to many new winemakers and the guild generally and has made a significant contribution to the standing of the guild.  David also held the position of guild president for 10 years.

David Wood

David (D1) Joined the guild in 2005, immediately volunteered to be guild secretary and Public Officer (Association Secretary).  He has fulfilled other roles including treasurer (converted records to electronic format), newsletter editor, developed website(s), main facilitator for winemaking classes, country wine judge.  Three times WOTY recipient.

Peter Enness

Peter has been a dedicated contributor to the guild since he joined.  He has served as president for four years and been a stalwart for the winemaking competition for many years.  Two times WOTY recipient.

John Lee
(deceased)

The late John Lee was one of the early members of the guild and won the WOTY award 10 times.  He is regarded as a master winemaker.  He was president of the guild for 30 plus years

 

 

 

Jacques Garnier (deceased)

Jacques had 'history' with the guild; he has been a past president and has won many winemaking awards.  His 'bluegrass' wine is (in)famous.   He was guild president for three years.   Jacques moved to the Wodonga area some years ago and established the Wodonga and District Amateur Winemakers guild

Gordon Evans (deceased)

Gordon was a founding member of the guild.  He won the inaugural WOTY award and on three  other occasions.  Gordon also has the rare honour of having received a 'perfect 20' score for a potato wine that he made.  He believes that minimal additives are required to make the best tasting wines and he also loves the 'stickies'.  Gordon also acted as guild Secretary for 30 plus years
